On December 22, after the Friday prayer at the Ezderbey mosque in Baku (Tatar mosque), the Tatar Diaspora of Azerbaijan met with the first deputy chairman of the Religious Board of the Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Council of Muftis of Russia, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Khazrat Damir Mukhetdinov and the head of the CIS Department of the International Department RBM RF Nail Shakirov.

Damir hazrat Mukhetdinov conveyed greetings to the Tatar Diaspora of Azerbaijan from the chairman of the Russian Muslim Spiritual Board and the Council of Muftis of Russia Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. He stressed the importance of interaction between the Tatars of Azerbaijan and Russia, noting the need for deepening ties with the Muslim Tatars of Azerbaijan. Damir hazrat Mukhetdinov spoke about the possibilities of the Moscow Islamic University and the fact that the TMM of the Russian Federation, if necessary, can send relevant literature to the Tatars of Azerbaijan in Russian and Tatar.

Chairman of the Public Association “Tatarstan” Abas Minashev said that the meeting at the Ezhderbey Mosque with Damir hazrat turned out to be useful, as it was possible to get acquainted with the work of the Russian Muslim Religious Board: “I would like to continue this interaction in the future “.

Deputy Chairman of the Public Association “Tatarstan” Emin Ramazanov told Damir Hazrat about the history of the Tatar mosque and made an initiative to hold joint seminars, conferences with the participation of representatives of the Muslim Religious Board in Baku.

Emin Ramazanov thanked the representatives of the Russian Muslim Spiritual Service for the response to the proposal to meet with the Tatar diaspora of Azerbaijan.

The head of the public sector of the public association “Tatarstan”, the imam of the Ezhderbey Mosque, Rashid hazrat, Jabarov, that in this mosque, the Tartars of Azerbaijan, organized events on the occasion of Holy Holidays – Ramadan and Kurban, spoke about the importance of interaction with the Russian Orthodox Church of Moscow, noting the absence of appropriate literature in the Tatar language. He also touched upon the possibility of an internship for imams at the Moscow Islamic University.

It should be noted that representatives of the Russian Muslim Spiritual Service visited Baku to participate in the Aliyev International Conference on “The Year of Islamic Solidarity: Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue” held on December 21 at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The conference was held in connection with the completion of the “Year of Islamic Solidarity”, announced by the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, organized by the Caucasus Muslims Office and the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan.

The Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin also took part in the conference.
