Tatarstan presented with a sculpture of Kul Gali

In the framework of the Days of Tatarstan in Moscow, the sculpture of the poet, an outstanding representative of the medieval Volga-Bulgarian literature Kul Gali was shown to  President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The work to  the head of the republic   was  shown by  the author – sculptor Alexander Golovachev.

Alexander Vasilyevich gave it to the Republic of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov promised that the sculpture will be presented in one of Kazan museums.

The works by  Alexander Vasilyevich are well known in Tatarstan. The sculptor actively participated in the projects of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan. In collaboration with Vladimir Demchenko, he  has  created monuments to the capital of Tatarstan — Nikolai Gumilyov on St. Petersburg Street, the architect of the Kazan Kremlin near the Annunciation Cathedral, and at Kazan’s Millennium Park, this creative team has  created a fountain in the form of a cauldron (kazan).

Alexander Golovachev and Vladimir Demchenko are also co-authors of several monuments in Yelabuga: Marina Tsvetaeva, merchant and patron of the arts Dmitry Stakheev, soldiers-internationalists.

To create the sculpture “Kul Gali” the author was inspired by the image and work of the medieval poet. The poet himself is depicted on a sculpture reflecting on, inspired by his famous work “The Tale of Yusuf”.
