November 11, 2015, the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov took part in the Days of the Tatar enlightenment in the Astrakhan region. A report on the education system of the Republic of Tatarstan and the work with the regions in the field of education was made by Engel Fattakhov. The plenary session was attended likewise by Minister of Education and Science of the Astrakhan Region Vitaly Gutman and First Deputy Chairman of the Duma of the Astrakhan region Anvar Almaev. Following the discussions, an agreement has been signed on cooperation between the Ministries of
Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan and Astrakhan region. Furthermore, on 12 November, the delegation visited the educational organizations of the Astrakhan region, took part in master classes, met with Tatar community of Astrakhan.

According to reliable available information department, under the agreement it is planned to start teaching Tatar language Astrakhan pupils via the Internet, and in addition provide preschool and educational institutions of the Astrakhan region with textbooks in Tatar. November 12 , it is scheduled a plenary meeting with the participation of professors, teachers and Methodists of National Education and interregional cooperation in 2 subjects of Russia.
Working together to strengthen the unity of the Tatar ethno-cultural community was discussed at the meeting of the delegation with the Governor Alexander Zhilkin. Internship of Astrakhan teachers may be held in the
Republic of Tatarstan. Experience of colleagues actively using the method of distance education will benefit our schools and teachers.
In addition, according to the document, pre-school and educational institutions of the Astrakhan region will be provided with textbooks in Tatar. Friendly relations between the parties are growing stronger with each passing year. According to preliminary information the media center of the regional Ministry of Education and Science, the Tatar language is taught in 8 schools out of 284, only 919 pupils are studying the language.
