The 17th International theater festival of turkic peoples “Nauruz” to be held in Kazan

From June 9 to 22, Kazan will host the 17th International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples “Nauruz.”

The “Nauruz” Festival will feature theaters from Brazil, Greece, Russia, Turkey, South Africa, and other countries. More than 15 theater troupes from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and national republics of Russia — including Adygea, Altai, Crimea, Tatarstan, Khakassia, Chechnya, Chuvashia, and Yakutia — will participate in the event.

As part of the “Nauruz” International Festival, a special program of the 11th International Theater Olympiad will also be presented, featuring theaters from Bashkortostan, Brazil, Greece, Mari El, Turkey, Tatarstan, and South Africa.
The Alexandrinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg) will showcase the play “Liturgy ZERO” directed by Valery Fokin.

In total, more than 1,000 participants are expected to attend the festival.
