Films from both competitive and non-competitive programs will be shown across 43 districts of Tatarstan.
The XX Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema “Altyn Minbar” is expanding its scope. Films from competitive and non-competitive programs will be showcased in 43 districts of Tatarstan.
According to Tatarkino director Milyausha Aituganova, the idea of expanding the project’s reach has been a long-held aspiration.
She noted that the program will feature films geared towards teenagers, as well as projects that will resonate with older generations. Residents of the republic’s districts will have the opportunity to view films owned by Tatarkino.
The festival organizers are particularly focused on films produced in Tatarstan, as 2024 marks the centenary of Tatarstan cinema. In light of this milestone, the XX Film Festival will launch an out-of-competition program titled “Towards the 100th Anniversary of Tatarstan Cinematography”.
“We will showcase the finest films from the 1920s to more contemporary works” explained Aituganova. “These films encapsulate the entire history of Tatarstan cinema. By attending all screenings of this program, viewers will witness the evolution of Tatarstan cinematography”.
The program will include winners of various nominations, including those recognized at international festivals and competitions.
The XX International Festival “Altyn Minbar” will take place from September 6th to 11th, 2024.
It should be noted that the “Altyn Minbar” festival was included in the list of film projects supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The Kazan International Film Festival is held with the support of Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Ministry of Culture of Russia, as well as in partnership with the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group.
