The 2nd Republican festival of women’s folk crafts “Biste Shale” will take place in the Rybnaya Sloboda district on August 24, 2024, in the Maidan of Rybnaya Sloboda settlement.

To participate in the festival, interested individuals must submit an application to the Organizing Committee via email at [email protected] by August 9, 2024. Collective participants are required to attach a list of members with their dates of birth to the application.

The festival program includes:

09:30 – 10:30: Welcome reception for guests. Registration of participants. Coffee break.

11:00: Festival opening (prologue).

11:30 – 14:30: Performances by amateur artists from the Republic of Tatarstan.

11:30: Start of the children’s folk playground “BalaChak”.

11:30: Master classes on “Shal bailisem kilә” (Weaving with a shawl), “Resemnerde shal bizege” (Shawl decoration patterns), “Biste kabartmasy” (Shawl embroidery), and “Decorations from down”.

11:45: Presentation of the national dish “Biste kabartmasy”.

12:00: Fashion show “Defile of shawl clothes”.

12:30: Competition “The most creative shawl”.

13:15: “The fastest knitter” competition.

13:45: “Quick spooling of the coil” competition.

14:45: D3 format shawl presentation.

15:00: Departure of participants.

This festival brings together the republic’s leading craftspeople and enthusiasts of this traditional art form. It serves as a platform for creative dialogue among masters.

For festival attendees, this event offers a unique opportunity to view original works by needlewomen from across the republic. Guests can explore an exhibition of shawls and knitted items, participate in master classes where craftswomen share their expertise on shawl-making, and enjoy performances of national dances and folk songs.
