The 5th international Miners’ Sabantuy takes place in Prokopyevsk

Today, on July 12, the 5th International Miners’ Sabantuy kicked off in Prokopyevsk—a vibrant intercultural celebration that brings together the traditions of peoples living in Kuzbass and beyond.

Among the honored guests of the event are the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, Vasil Shaykhraziev, as well as the Governor of the Kemerovo Region, Ilya Seredyuk.

Festive venues have been set up across the area, featuring performances, workshops, and public festivities. Ethnic farmsteads are on display, showcasing the rich culture and everyday life of the Tatars, Teleuts, Shors, Chuvash, Mordvins, Udmurts, and Russians. A special area is dedicated to the youth wing of the Assembly of Peoples of Kuzbass.

The Sabantuy program is filled with concert performances. Audiences are delighted by creative groups from Kuzbass and Tatarstan. Taking the main stage are the Governor’s Dance Theater “Siberian Kaleidoscope,” the dance ensemble “Siberian Tricks,” students of the I.D. Kobzon College of Culture and Arts, and the Cossack song ensemble “Zlatnitsa.” Representing the Republic of Tatarstan are the State Ensemble of Folk Music, the State Song and Dance Ensemble “Agidel,” the trio “Kazan Yegetläre,” and the group ZAKARIA.
