On March 19th, the IX Congress of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan (SAM RT) has commenced in Kazan, bringing together over 1,520 imams from across the republic.

Among the attendees are Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan; Kamil Hazrat Samigullin, the current Mufti; Vasil Shaykhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars; Talgat Hazrat Tadzhuddin, Supreme Mufti of Russia and Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, and other notable figures.

The key topics of the congress include the election of a new Mufti and Chief Qazi of Tatarstan. Additionally, participants will review the achievements of SAM RT over the past four years, assess its work, and discuss plans for the future.
