The monument to international journalist Farid Mustafeyevich Seyful-Mulyukov will be opened in Moscow

Within the framework of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Moscow on August 17, 2018 at 12.00 on Danilovsky Cemetery in Moscow on the initiative of the Embassy of Tatarstan a monument to the well-known international journalist and Orientalist-Arabist Farid Mustafeyevich Seifull-Mulyukov (1930-2016) will be opened.

The monument is established by the Republic of Tatarstan.

The author of the project is the sculptor Rim  Akchurin, a graduate of the Moscow Art and Industry Academy. S.G. Stroganova, a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, an architect – Nina Zhernakova, Granit.

The project of the monument was coordinated with the journalist’s family.

The sculptor portrayed the image of F.M. Seifull-Mulyukov standing in a niche. The figure is represented in the half-turn movement, with a characteristic uplift of the shoulders, a fluttering fold of the jacket. The stare looks away. In the work by Rim Akchurin conveys not only the portrait resemblance, but also the pensive state, the spirituality of the image with the deep and penetrating view of F.M. Seifull-Mulyukov.

F.M. Seyfull-Mulyukov is familiar to the older generation of television viewers with dozens of films and thousands of reports from around the world. He was part of the elite of international journalism, he worked in the countries of the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

He met with heads of state, prominent public figures: King Hussein of Jordan, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, leaders of Afghanistan Taraki and Najibullah, Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

In the late 50’s, he was the first Soviet journalist to meet with Gamal Abdel-Nasar, saw with his own eyes the six-day war of 1967 between Arabs and Israelis. He was the first to visit Israel, Palestine and the first with a television camera to make hajj to Muslim shrines.

After the heroic work of a correspondent in hot spots for 16 years worked as a political observer Gosteleradio. He belongs to the glorious cohort of the best masters of the mass media, who conducted the daily political program “Today in the world”.
