On the 2nd day of the month of Rajab (December 21), as part of a working visit to the Almetyevsk Municipal District, the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the renovated building of the R. Fakhreddin Islamic Madrasah. The visit was also attended by the Mufti of Tatarstan, Kamil hazrat Samigullin; the qadi of the eastern region of Tatarstan and imam-mukhtasib of the Almetyevsk District, Ismail hazrat Singatullin; and others.
The building, which previously belonged to one of the oil-producing companies, was completely reconstructed.
Construction and installation works at the site began in April of the current year and were completed on October 31. The new madrasah has become a harmonious part of the architectural ensemble of Marjani Street in Almetyevsk.
The building is a comfortable, modern space that meets all educational standards and is equipped with everything necessary, including a residential block capable of accommodating up to 48 students.
The Almetyevsk Madrasah is one of the leading educational institutions in its field in Russia. Today, about 550 people study there, including 150 full-time students and 94 female students in the women’s department. The geography of the students extends beyond the Volga region to Central Russia, the Urals, and Siberia.
Rustam Minnikhanov and accompanying officials toured the building, including the residential facilities. The Rais of Tatarstan gave a positive assessment of the reconstruction and the conditions created for students’ education and living.
He visited classrooms, a computer lab, a gym, and a medical office.
Rustam Minnikhanov also spoke with the students, in particular asking whether everyone knew the Tatar language. A representative of the madrasah reported that about 80% of the students speak Tatar, while the others are improving their language skills—especially those who came to study from other regions of the country. Students of the R. Fakhreddin Madrasah also study Arabic and English.
