Over the past four years, following the inaugural Forum held in Novosibirsk in December 2020, the women’s movement in the Novosibirsk Region has grown stronger, expanded, and identified new objectives.

The Forum was inaugurated by educators and directors of rural schools, leaders of creative teams, heads of rural clubs, and activists from the Ak Kalfak women’s organization of the Novosibirsk Region, operating under the RTNKANO NGO. The selection process for participants was rigorous yet fair, inviting those who demonstrated a commitment to effecting positive change. Representatives from the cultural and educational sectors were chosen from various districts, along with two individuals from villages with a significant Tatar population.

The opening remarks were delivered by the Forum’s direct organizers: Amir Gimadislamovich Gareev, Honoured Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Ravza Shamilievna Tikhomirova, Honoured Worker of Culture and Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the Director of the Novosibirsk Regional Tatar Cultural Centre.

Irina Rudkovskaya, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region, extended her greetings to the participants and presented letters of appreciation. This marked her first visit to the House of Tatar Culture.

Igor Atyakshev, Deputy Minister of Regional Policy of the Novosibirsk Region, presented words of greetings from the Ministry of Regional Policy and letters of thanks to the delegates of the forum.

Marina Terentyeva, Head of the Department for Cooperation with Religious Organisations and Ethnic Cultural Autonomies and Organisations of the Public Relations Department of the Novosibirsk City Hall, gave her wishes and kind words of farewell.

The Mufti of the Novosibirsk Region and Imam-Khatib of the Cathedral Mosque Shakirzyanov Salim Nakipovich noted in his greeting the significant role of women both in the family and in society.

With words of support to women whose husbands, sons and fathers defend our country in the SVO addressed Kurina Natalia Nikolaevna, Chairman of the Committee of Families of Fatherland Warriors of the Novosibirsk Region, Deputy Head of the SVO Support Fund ‘Defenders of the Fatherland’ for the Novosibirsk Region.

A video congratulation and address was made by the World Congress of the Tatars, and Idrisova Kadriya Raesovna Idrisova, Head of the Committee for Work with Public Organisations ‘Ak Kalfak’ addressed the participants with words of farewell. The Forum continued with a plenary session.

The II Forum of Tatar Women of the Novosibirsk Region was organised by the Ministry of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region, the Novosibirsk Regional Tatar Cultural Centre, the Regional Tatar National Cultural Autonomy of the Novosibirsk Region with the support of the World Congress of the Tatars, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Association of Tatars of Siberia, the Federal National Cultural Autonomy of Tatars and the public organisation of Tatar women “Ak kalfak”.
