June 20, 2019
On June 20, the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Sverdlovsk Region was visited by guests from Canada. Muhammad Effendi and Atia Khanum Shahabutdin ordered a tour of the Muslim lands of the Volga region and the Urals. Muhammad Effendi was in the USSR as a tourist in 1985 at the invitation of a Soviet company. Now I would like to see what changes have occurred in Russia and the lives of Muslims after the collapse of the USSR. Their route lay through Moscow to Kazan, then to Ufa and to Yekaterinburg. After Yekaterinburg, the couple will go to Kazakhstan.
Acting RT Representative Faviya Safiullina showed the guests a historic building where the representative office is located. She told about the history of the Tatars of the Urals before the revolution and after, acquainted with the activities of the Permanent Representation. Guests were treated to national dishes and tea.
As Muhammad Shahabutdin noted, there is a lot of propaganda abroad against Russia, but it is obvious that Russia is a very developed country, the people here are friendly and hospitable. He liked Kazan and Ufa, where Muslim traditions are honored. And Ekaterinburg also leaves a pleasant impression.
The guests were accompanied by a representative of the travel agency RAHAT-TOUR from Kazan.
