The Tatar studio “Apush” won the prize at the festival of children’s and youth theater groups “Theatrical Volga Region”. “Magical Dreams of Apush” was recognized by the jury as the Best Children’s Play. This is the first victory of Tatarstan in this competition, reports the Department for the National Policy in Language Culture of the Executive Committee of Kazan.
Children’s and youth theater groups and studios participate at the festival. The winners were determined in seven nominations. “Best male actor” of children’s performances was Amir Israfilov, who played the role of Apush, and in the nomination “Best soundtrack” the first place was taken by composer Zulfat Valiullin.
“This is our first participation in this festival, our first performance and our first victory. We want to thank everyone who voted for us,”- said Aliya Fayzrakhmanova, head of the studio.
Guzel Sagitova, Deputy head of the Executive Committee shared her emotions: “We are so happy! This victory is not only for the city, but also for the entire republic! We express our gratitude to the leadership for supporting our work, to the TNV channel for their help in filming and dubbing into Russian. This victory belongs to us all!”- she said.
Twenty-eight performances in various genres (drama, comedy, musicals, adventures, fantasies and others) reached the final. The summing-up the results of the festival took place in Izhevsk. During the live broadcast, 14 regions of the Volga Federal District alternately announced the results of the voting.
The representatives of theatrical art and other creative professions, regional branches of the Union of Theatrical Figures of the Russian Federation and other public cultural organizations were among the jury.
The organizers of the festival were the office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District, the NGO “Fund for Assistance to the Development of Civil Society Institutions in the Volga Federal District”, executive bodies of state power and regional branches of theatrical figures of the country.
Every year, about 400 theater groups and 6 thousand actors participate in the festival. The regional stage took place in September-December 2022, the district stage in January-February. The prize fund for the first place is 250 thousand rubles.
For reference, the Apush Tatar children’s theater studio is being implemented under the auspices of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. The day before, an additional casting was held, in which 50 children from Kazan and the Baltasinsky district took part. According to the results of the selection, fourteen children will become students of the studio.
