The premiere of the play “The Golden Saber”, based on the novel “Atly Kazaklar” by Nafik Yagudin, took place at the Naberezhnye Chelny State Tatar Drama Theatre named after Ayaz Gilyazov. The play was written by Aigul Akhmetgalieva, and the director is Oleg Kinyazgulov, the artistic director of the theatre.
The theme of the play, which centers on the life of Tatar Cossacks in Orenburg, may seem unusual, as it is rarely explored in art. But this very theme became central to the production, taking the audience back to that era. The love story of the main characters—Minlebay and Maryam—goes through many trials, evoking strong emotions from the audience.
The production impresses with its grandeur, featuring 23 actors, vibrant costumes, songs, and dances that create an unforgettable atmosphere. Particular attention is given to the participation of People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ravil Galeev. His debut on the stage was a true highlight of the performance.
Humor and drama intertwine organically in the plot, offering the audience both laughter and tears. The actors’ performances skillfully capture the spirit of the era, touching the hearts of all who attended the performance.
“The Golden Saber” is not just a play; it is a journey into the past, where history comes to life before the audience’s eyes.
