“Kaz omәse” was held in the kindergarten N64 “Kolokolchik” in Ulan-Ude (Buryatia) within the framework of the seminar “Formation of Personal Qualities in Preschoolers: Kindergarten and Home”. According to tradition, it is usually celebrated at the end of November and the beginning of December and is accompanied by cooking of goose and pillow preparation for the brides’ dowries.
During the show, children performed a traditional sitting ritual, sang songs and participated in a goose “plucking” competition. The girls demonstrated their plucking skills, joked and sang, while “bachelors” helped fiancées carry bundles of feathers.
“This is the second year that Tatar groups have participated in the event. Parents sewed costumes for children, and the Tatarstan Education Ministry and Tatar National Autonomy in Buryatia provided us with richly embroidered vests and skullcaps. The children have already had a successful performance at Navruz and are looking forward to participating in Baikal Sabantui. Today they presented us with an incredibly beautiful national spectacle”, Sazhida Batalova, the head of the Buryatia branch of the Tatar national cultural autonomy, shared her impressions.
