On December 7, at the meeting of the organization, chairman of the republican national-cultural autonomy of the Tatars “Yaktashlar” handed textbooks of the Tatar language and literature to representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Mordovia. Sets of books have been received from Tatarstan as part of a program of cooperation between regional governments. The manuals are intended for secondary schools with the study of the Tatar language. There are 19 of them in Mordovia.
“We are implementing a number of measures to preserve the national culture and languages of the peoples living in the territory of the republic,” said Ashirov. – The Tatar population is involved in this work. People, and most importantly – young people, have the opportunity to join the legacy of their ancestors, to speak the language of their fathers and grandfathers. The Tatars of Mordovia do not lose touch with the origins of their national traditions and customs. ”
