The VIII Kurultai Сonference of the Spiritual administration of muslims of the Russian Federation was held in Moscow on September 21st.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, Vasil Shaikhraziev, was in Moscow on a working visit during this time. The conference took place in the capital city.
The grand opening of the event commenced with the recitation of the Noble Quran, an honor bestowed upon sheikh Askhat Gimatdinov, imam-hatib of the Memorial Mosque of Moscow.
Following this, guests were presented with a video highlighting the work of the Spiritual administration of muslims of the Russian Federation and the International Muslim Forum.
At the conclusion of the event, delegates of the VIII Kurultai-Сonference of the Spiritual administration of muslims of the Russian Federation cast their votes to elect the following positions:
- Chairman of the DUM of the Russian Federation;
- First Deputy Chairman of the DUM of the Russian Federation;
- Members of the Presidium of the DUM of the Russian Federation.
The results of the election saw Ravil Gainutdin unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the Spiritual administration of muslims of the Russian Federation for a five-year term.
Mufti sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the Centralised Religious Organisation of the Spiritual administration of muslims of the Russian Federation and the Council of Muftis of Russia, was presented with a commemorative award from the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan in recognition of his long-standing spiritual guidance, significant contributions to introducing Muslims to the traditional values of Islam, and efforts in preserving and developing Tatar national culture.
Furthermore, Rashid Yevgenyevich Bragin, Chairman of the Spiritual administration of muslims of the Donetsk People’s Republic (Muhtasibat of Donbass), was awarded the Order of Friendship by the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan. This honor was bestowed upon him for his substantial contributions to the preservation and development of spiritual and moral values, and his efforts in strengthening inter-confessional harmony and peace.
