To mark the 140th anniversary of Tukay, the National museum of the Republic of Tatarstan to present little-known symphony “Kyrlay”

The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan will present the poetic symphony “Kyrlay,” composed by Nazib Zhiganov, in celebration of an anniversary of the birth of the Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay. The museum’s new director, Ayrat Faizrakhmanov, spoke about this in his first Russian-language interview for the “12th Floor” column with Rinat Bilalov, editor-in-chief of Tatar-inform.

“This is a little-known work that we want to highlight during the year of Tukay’s anniversary,” said Faizrakhmanov.

This year marks the 140th anniversary of Tukay’s birth. The poet was born on April 26, 1886.
