From August 15 to 21, the traditional Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan will take place in Moscow. The event is organized by the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, with the support of the State Budgetary Institution of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan “Tatarkino,” the “Illuzion” cinema, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, the Regional Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy of Moscow, JSC “Tatmedia,” the Union of Writers of Tatarstan, and the Tatar Book Publishing House.
The opening of the Days of Culture will be held on August 15 at the “Illuzion” cinema with the premiere screening of the film Eniler hem bәbiler (Mothers and Daughters), dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of prominent public figure and writer Tufan Minnullin.
Film screenings will continue from August 16 to 19 in the conference hall of the Cathedral Mosque. Marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, audiences will be shown feature films such as Kyrik durtneng may aenda (In May of Forty-Four), Telsız kuke (The Silent Cuckoo), 823nche kilometr (823rd Kilometer), and Ibn Fadlan, as well as documentaries Xeterde (In Memory) and Connecting Worlds.
On August 19, the Tatar Cultural Center will host an immersive performance Secrets of Tatar Cuisine with a tasting of Tatar dishes. The performance will be presented by chef Rinat Galiakberov, creator of a home-style Tatar cooking course.
On August 20, the Day of the Tatar Book — Tatar Beacons — will be held in the format of meetings with writers and authors of new books published by the Tatar Book Publishing House and JSC “Tatmedia.” The program will also include a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, as well as a concert prepared by the R. Vagapov Tatar Culture Foundation in memory of the renowned public figure and writer Razil Valeev.
On August 21, the International House of Music will host a gala evening featuring masters of the arts from the Republic of Tatarstan. In the concert hall foyer, guests will be able to view the painting exhibition Moscow: The Elm City prepared by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, wooden sculptures by Rival Bikmukhametov, a rare collection display, and a book exhibition-sale from the Tatar Book Publishing House.
