The collection “Kazan in the Ottoman archives” will be published in Russian and Tatar languages. This was told by chairman of the State Committee for Archival Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Gulnara Gabdrakhmanova.
“The collection” Kazan in the Ottoman archives “is being prepared for publication now in Russian and Tatar languages. Some of the materials were presented at the exhibition “Everything that comes, and this will remain forever”, which was dedicated to the history of the relationship between the Golden Horde, Russia and the Ottoman state from the 13th to the beginning of the 20th century, ”G. Gabdrakhmanova said.
Printing a book with translations of documents from the Ottoman archives about Kazan is not the only form of cooperation between workers in the archives of Tatarstan and Turkey. This was stated by head of the Office of State Archives under the Administration of the President of Turkey Ugur Unal.
“The last thing we are working on now is a bilateral exchange of employees of our archives on issues of document restoration,” Ugur Unal said.
Tatarstan archivists, in turn, are studying the experience of Turkish colleagues in creating a service for compiling their family tree, as well as in digitizing old documents.
