In November 2018, at the exhibition and cultural programs department of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kremlevskaya St., 33), the exposition “The Universe of Chingiz Aitmatov” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the writer’s birth is working.
The exhibition presents works by the author of different years, a bibliography, a list of screened and theatrical works, newspaper and magazine articles about the work of a wonderful artist of the word. The exposition reveals Chingiz Aitmatov as a journalist, deputy, diplomat, state and public figure.
Among the exhibited editions is the novel “Jamilya”, translated into French by the famous writer Louis Aragon and bringing world-wide fame to Ch. Aitmatov. In the story, the writer raises moral and philosophical problems of our time, introduces the history of his people.
The book “The White Pages of History” about the parents and the writer’s family, written by his sister Rosa Aitmatova, attracts attention. Readers will be interested in materials about the connections of Ch. Aitmatov with Tatarstan. The writer came to Kazan several times, communicated with the writers of the republic. The book of Fauzia Bayramova “Mother” introduces the fate of the mother of the writer Nagima Abdulvaliyeva, a Tatar by birth, a woman of an interesting fate, who was a young Komsomol member and political worker in the army.
Chingiz Aitmatov is a writer who is known by the whole world, a laureate of many of the most prestigious Russian and international awards. His works, translated into 176 languages of the world, are understandable and close in all parts of the world, because, preserving the national color, the writer spoke about the universal.
