According to the head of TPC Chelny Branch Rafis Kashapov , just half a year, more than 200 family trees not only in Tatarstan and other regions of Russia, but also from the USA, Finland, Turkey and other countries where Tatars live have been sent. As it turned out, many are interested in their ancestors, not only students, but people, who are already mature. The age of participants was from 14 years old to 70-plus. Although the condition of the competition was to describe a family history in Tatar language, and there were letters in English. Moreover, the majority of participants in their roots going back in time confirmed the historical and archival documents, family albums. It turned out that some of the contestants know their ancestors to the 20th generation.
– We have organized this contest, first, for the development of the Tatar language , and secondly, wanted to support those who seek to learn more about their roots. A person who does not know the history of his people, has no future. And pride for his people , his faith , begins with family stories and legends. Thirdly, it is a good event for the beginning of 2014, which is declared the Year of culture in Russia – said Rafis Kashapov.
The members of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars, well-known writers and public figures Idar Halimov, Fauzia Bayramova, director of the Lyceum № 84 Shamil Zakirov awarded the winners. A valuable gift and many award of 50 thousand rubles for the first place became 70 -year-old Atlas Safuanov from Almetyevsk region of Tatarstan. Second place went to Fanil Garifullin living in Ankara. His reward is 30 thousand rubles. 3rd place and a prize of 20 thousand received Laisan Takhirova from Meleuz, Republic of Bashkortostan. Prizes and honorable presents in amount of 3 and 5 thousand rubles received more than ten participants, who live in Kazakhstan , Chuvashia, Samara region, St. Petersburg and other cities in Tatarstan.
