Tomorrow, August 20th, Samara will host a meeting between Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, and local Tatar communities. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, Vasil Shaikhraziev, will participate in the event.

• Tatars constitute the second largest ethnic group in the Samara Oblast. Approximately 30 villages in the region have a predominantly Tatar population. Significant Tatar communities are found in the cities of Togliatti, Syzran, Neftegorsk, and in the districts of Pohvistnevsky, Kamyshlinsky, Yelkhovsky, Shentalinsky, and Chelno-Vershinsky.
