Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziev is on a working trip to Omsk region. Today, he met with Acting Governor of Omsk Region Vitaly Khotsenko.

The event was also attended by the First Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars Mars Tukaev, Minister of Regional Policy and Mass Communications Anastasia Terpugova, Chairman of regional Tatar national-cultural autonomy Radik Minnikhanov, Executive Director of Tatar national-cultural autonomy “Ibir” (Siberia) Marat Katyrov, Executive Director of regional Tatar national-cultural center “Irtysh” Nail Maryatov.

The participants of the meeting discussed the contribution of WCT to the preservation of the cultures and traditions of the Tatar ethnic group in the regions of Russia, in particular, in Omsk region.

Vitaly Khotsenko noted that Tatars are one of the most numerous peoples of the region. Today there are 5 Tatar national-cultural autonomies.

“The relations of cooperation between our subjects are becoming closer every year,” said Vasil Shaykhraziev.

He also mentioned the tragedy in the Tatar village of Karakul, Omsk region.

“The same tragedy happened this year in the village of Yuldus, Kurgan region. These bad news united the Tatar people. To date, we are reviving the village of Yuldus with the whole Tatar world,” the speaker added.

The purpose of his trip to Omsk region was to get acquainted with the construction of the Tatar farmstead in the Omsk State Historical and Cultural Museum “Old Siberian”. Vasil Shaykhraziev proposed to hold the opening of the Tatar farmstead together.
