Yesterday, as part of his working visit to Abkhazia, Vasil Shaykhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars  met with the President of Abkhazia, Badr Gunba. The meeting was also attended by Vice President of the Republic Beslan Bigvava, Head of the Presidential Administration of Abkhazia Beslan Eshba, Minister of Culture Daur Kove, and others.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of cooperation, the life of Tatars living in the republic, as well as prospects for implementing joint cultural and educational projects. Special attention was given to preserving traditions and supporting youth initiatives.

A key point of discussion was the organization of the Sabantuy festival, which will take place in 2026 in Abkhazia. The participants emphasized that holding this event will be an important contribution to the promotion of Tatar culture at the international level.
