Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziev is currently in Kirov. Here he visited the Cathedral Mosque. The Republic of Tatarstan provides financial assistance for it.

The Cathedral Mosque in Kirov is situated in the historical part of the city. It was built in 1909. There was also a school there. In the early 1930s, the mosque was closed and did not function until the mid-90s. The Muslim community of the city was able to regain the building only in 1996.
