Vasil Shaykhraziev visits the “Iman Nury” mosque

As part of his working trip to the Udmurt Republic, Vasil Shaykhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, visited the “Iman Nury” (Light of Faith) Mosque.

During a conversation with representatives of the clergy, they discussed topics of spiritual and moral education, strengthening interfaith harmony, and supporting initiatives aimed at preserving the national identity of Tatars living outside the Republic of Tatarstan. It was noted that the mosque is not only a religious site but also an important cultural and educational center for the local community.

The “Iman Nury” Mosque is located in Izhevsk on Petrova Street in the Ustinovsky district of the city. The history of the mosque dates back to 1996, when the possibility of building a new mosque in Izhevsk was first discussed after the opening of the Izhevsk Cathedral Mosque in the Leninsky district, as even the large building of the cathedral mosque could not accommodate all visitors on religious holidays. A plot of land in the Ustinovsky district was allocated in 2001, and construction of the mosque began in 2006. On September 5, 2008, the pinnacle of the minaret with a crescent moon was installed on the building. Construction work was completed in 2009, but permission to operate the building was only obtained in April 2012. The grand opening of the mosque took place on June 14, 2012.
