For the high contribution to raising the brand of Tatarstan, the consolidation of the Tatars, as well as the promotion of the values of humanism, tolerance, ethno-confessional harmony, the dialogue of peoples, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziev was awarded a gold medal “Rose of the World” by UNESCO. The award was presented by the rector of the UNESCO Institute for a Culture of Peace, President of the Europe-Asia International Humanitarian Academy, Professor Engel Tagirov.

The medal was established in 2000. It is awarded to well-known Russian and foreign politicians, heads of state, figures of science, education, culture and art, heads of scientific and educational centers (universities), international, public peacekeeping, humanitarian organizations who have made a significant contribution to the development of the economy, science, education, culture, arts, sports, as well as the introduction into social practice of the ideas and values of democracy, progress, tolerance, interfaith harmony and dialogue of civilizations.
