Today, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, Vasil Shaykhraziyev, met with the Executive Director of the Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Timur Sharafutdinov, and the Chairman of the local Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy of the city of Sergach, Farit Aymaltdinov.

The guests shared excellent news: the number of branches of the Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy in the Nizhny Novgorod Region has increased. New branches have been established in the Sergach and Krasnooktyabr districts. During the meeting, they also outlined their plans.

To mark the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, the city of Sergach intends to install a bust of Tukay and open a park in his honor. This initiative has already been agreed upon with the city authorities and was supported by Vasil Shaykhraziyev.

In 2026, a major iftar and a Sabantuy festival are planned to be held in the city of Sergach. Vasil Shaykhraziyev pledged to assist in the implementation of these projects. The meeting also defined the directions for future cooperation.
