Today the world’s attention is focused on the events in Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The upcoming March 16 referendum has crucial importance for all peoples of the Crimea.

At such a crucial time, all political forces , public associations civil society, in general, wisdom, prudence, restraint in the estimates and the statements is required. Unfortunately, some associations of Tatarstan , known for their radicalism and irresponsibility, find it possible to speak about the events , while not having a clue about them. In particular, we are talking about organizations such as the “Milli Mejlis “, “Ittifak ” Tatar Youth Union ” Azatlyk “, behind which no specific cases , no real public support is marked They do not even think that by their statements they cause discord and confrontation in the Crimea, as well as defame their people and the republic.

It is obvious to everyone, Tatarstan stretched out a helping hand to our brothers – the Crimean Tatars – in the most difficult and anxious time when they most need support. This is shown by our numerous meetings and conversations recently with the leadership of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people. We met the full understanding and kind attitude on their part. This testifies to the mutual trust between the Crimean and Kazan Tatars, which had intermarried by History itself.

We believe in wisdom of the people of Crimea!

Hopefully, they will take the right decision!
