Kurban-bairam – the main and most recognizable event in the Islamic calendar. It is celebrated in honor of the end of the Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca) 70 days after another big Islamic event, Uraza Bairam.

In 2019, the holiday falls on August 11th. Due to the fact that the holiday falls on Sunday, in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Monday – August 12 is also declared a non-working holiday.

According to the mayor’s office, in Ufa for holding religious ceremonies during the celebration of Kurban-bayram it is planned to organize two special platforms – in front of the shopping center “Karavan” (Prigorodnaya st., 55), which is located in close proximity to the village of Zinino, as well as Northern bus station in Ordzhonikidze district.

Mosques and Muslim organizations of the city of Ufa will hold this rite in accordance with all the canons of Islam, and the veterinary service of the city and the republic will not allow sacrificial animals with signs of any diseases to enter this area.

After the end of the festive sermon on the territory of the Vatan ethno-park and the square in front of the Bashkiria life style center, the Kurban Halal Fest festive event will be organized by the regional public organization Business Club Ferz. The program of the festival includes a variety of events – sports competitions,   koresh, a gala concert and pilau treats.
