Year of unity of peoples launched in Vladivostok with a vibrant celebration

The official opening of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia took place in Vladivostok, in Primorye.

The event was held at the branch of the National Center “Russia” and brought together representatives from all levels of government, public and national-cultural associations, as well as students and schoolchildren from Vladivostok.

A unique exhibition, “Symbols of the Peoples of Russia,” was organized in the hall, dedicated to the rich cultures of the peoples living in our multinational region. Participants of the celebration were able to discover vivid examples of the unique identity of the Russian, Belarusian, Tatar, Bashkir, Korean, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Udege, and other peoples, through traditional items of decorative and applied art, colorful folk costumes, traditional headdresses, and unique musical instruments.

Opening the celebration, Vera Shcherbina, Chairwoman of the Government of Primorsky Krai, took the floor. She emphasized the importance of the event, noting the contribution of each people to the rich cultural heritage of our country and highlighting the role of multinational interaction in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding. This friendship is especially evident in the special military operation zone, where our fighters, regardless of nationality or religion, call each other brothers.

Next, Anton Voloshko, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Krai, spoke about the importance of preserving traditions and cultural diversity. Galina Alekseeva, Chairwoman of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia in Primorsky Krai, also addressed the audience, urging participants to unite around common values and jointly create conditions for the development of intercultural dialogue.

Andrey Zharkov, an advisor to the governor, a participant in the special military operation, and a holder of three Orders of Courage, also spoke.

A small concert featuring creative groups from Vladivostok took place.

The public organization of Tatars and Bashkirs of Primorsky Krai, “Tugan il,” demonstrated its traditional organization. Attendees came from Nakhodka: Guzaliya Kupriyanova, Regina Sharipova, Samira Sadrutdinova, Margarita Povaryonkina, and Maria Plotnikova. Tatars and Bashkirs from the city of Artyom came as part of a group including Fania Khisamova, Zanfira Buraya, Alla Khalfina, Vladimir Khisamov, and Svetlana Vyrubaeva. From the city of Vladivostok, the event was attended by Ramziya Khmelevskaya, Alfiya and Ural Safuganov, and Liliya Bryantseva.
