On February 7, at 4:00 pm, the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region will host the opening of the exhibition “Oriental Motifs”  by artist-painter S. Bakhtiyarova.

The exhibition “Oriental motifs” reflects one of the trends of modern national visual art. The combination of painting, calligraphy and decorative-applied  arts  “Bahsami” is to use the author as an experiment painting on glass, going back to the traditions of the folk Tatar art “shamail”.

The exposition will feature improvisations of oriental patterns on glass using foil, inlays with colored natural stone, sequins, beads and other modern materials: “Garden of Paradise”, “Bridal Bouquet”, “Star of the East”, “Moonlight”, “Boot”, “Red Tulip”, “Black Tulip”, “White Mosque”, “Kaaba”.

Among the paintings will be presented “Golden Pheasant”, a new version of the composition “Inspiration” and the Crimean landscapes.

Within the framework of the exhibition, it is planned to hold a presentation of the book for the anniversary of the artist, “Memory of the Heart”, by the authors A. Yagusheva and R. Bakhtiyarova.

Saniya Bakhtiyarova is a talented and original artist, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a graduate of the Leningrad State Academic Institute named after I. E. Repin, workshop of the People’s Artist of the USSR I.A. Serebruany.  The works by Sania Miftyakhovna can be seen at solo exhibitions, in the Manege exhibition hall and in the art spaces of other countries: in Japan, Poland, Finland, France.
