The city of Sochi, according to tradition, once again confirms the status of a city in which special attention is paid to mass and professional sports. In October of this year, on the basis of the gymnasium No. 6 of Sochi, a week of belt koresh wrestling took place, in which more than three hundred primary school students took part.
Just want to draw your attention to the fact that the belt wrestling Koresh is a traditional type of struggle among Turkic peoples (Tatars, Bashkirs, Kazakhs and other nationalities), which is a kind of martial arts on sashes (belts), in which the wrestler has the goal of putting his opponent on his back with any of the allowed tricks.
The venue for the sports event was not chosen by chance. Indeed, it was at the gymnasium No. 6 of Sochi in September this year that the Koresh section was opened on the basis of the Rostock Center for Continuing Education. Training sessions are conducted by a specialist with a higher physical education, trainer and teacher of the Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 17 of Sochi, Nikolai Ivanov – “Pupils of the gymnasium are attracted to new sports and they are happy to try themselves in them. Belt wrestling Koresh interested children in that they understood the rules of the sport. During the event, boys and girls of 27 nationalities living in the city of Sochi tried themselves in the national wrestling. ”
