In St. Petersburg, the 112th anniversary of the poet-warrior Musa Jalil  celebrated.

Today, in St. Petersburg the 112th anniversary of the birth of the poet-hero Musa Jalil, whose brave deed became an example of unbending courage and devotion to the Motherland has been celebrated.

Traditionally, at 12 o’clock in the afternoon, in the square of house 18, along the Havana street, the traditional “Jalilev readings” took place, and flowers were placed on the monument to the hero, organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

The solemn event was opened by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region Renat Valiullin, he greeted and thanked all those present.

The solemn event was attended by creative cultural figures of the city, representatives of business and the Tatar community of St. Petersburg.

After the solemn part, the event continued in the library No. 4 of the Vasileostrovsky district, where all the guests were invited to the “Musa Jilil: Four Flowers: Literary Memorial” memorial evening dedicated to M. Jalil. The program included poems of the poet-warrior, a story about people who took an active part in the fate of the poet and discussed the perpetuation of the memory of the poet in Tatarstan, St. Petersburg and the world.

Today, also, solemn events took place in Tosno, Leningrad Region, near the monument on the central street of the city.

The events timed to the birthday of the poet-hero will continue on February 17 at the Library of National Literatures. The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Tosnen Tatar Society “Izge Yul”, within the framework of the cultural and educational project “The Tatar Sitting Room”, will hold a literary poetic evening “The Immortal Lyre of M. Jalil.”
