In the Russian capital, the memory of the Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai was honored. On the birthday of the great Tatar poet the Muscovites laid flowers at his monument.

Today, April 26, it  has  turned 133 years since the birth of the educator and leader of Tatar literature, who made a significant contribution to the national and world culture.

Emil Faizullin, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, and Farit Farisov, chairman of the ROO-Tatar national-cultural autonomy of Moscow, delivered welcoming words to the participants at the monument to G. Tukay.

Emil Faizullin greeted the participants of the event on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation Ravil Akhmetshin, congratulated on Tukai’s birthday  and the Day of  Native language.

He emphasized in his speech that despite his short life, Gabdulla Tukay  has  made a huge contribution to Tatar literature and culture. Streets are named after him, a monument to the poet has been installed in many Russian cities and even abroad. “His poems and books continue to live around the world. Yashesen Tukay. Yashesen tugan telebez! ​​”, – said Emil Venerovich.

We remind  that on April 26 it became a good tradition to hold a holiday of the Mother  language. It is Tukai who is the founder of the modern Tatar literary language. On this day, events are held in all Russian regions and foreign countries.

The ceremony brought together representatives of the Tatar public of Moscow, the Tatar cultural center of the capital, cultural workers and artists, and simply people who respect and value their native language, culture and history.

Around the monument, artists of the Tatar cultural center of Moscow presented a small concert program, in which poems of the great poet and songs to his words sounded.

The poem of the great Tukay “Tugan tel” was read by a student of the school № 1186 named after Musa Jalil Emil  Mustafin.

From the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, a basket of flowers was laid at the monument to the poet.
