In a small hall of the regional House of Culture a presentation of a new social organization – “Local national-cultural autonomy of Tatars”, whose purpose – to preserve, develop and promote the culture and traditions of the Tatar people took place.

The event was opened by chairman of the Sakhalin regional public organization “Educational and Cultural Center” Tugan Tel”(native language)” Zakia Valitova. She said that their focus has been the revival, preservation and development of Tatar culture, traditions, customs, rituals, widely using the best works

of folk art, identity and cultural values of the Tatar people living in the Sakhalin Oblast. In addition, the Tatar center “Tugan Tel” enculturates the younger generation to Tatar culture through measures of youth creativity. Then the audience was presented Chairman of the newly created Tatar cultural autonomy Svetlana Nurmuhambetova.

Head of the Culture Administration Nevelsky urban district Olga Nikolina delivered a congratulatory speech. She expressed confidence that the national public organization will serve unity and mutual respect between different peoples living in our area. The congratulations were joined by representatives of public organizations of Nevelsky region, as well as chairman of the Muslim organization “Sakhalin” Imam Khatib Hazrat Abdulvahid Nurislamov. The need has been mentioned to preserve the national culture and building a culture of interethnic communication.

The songs in the Tatar language sounded during the event, Yuri Vatutin pleased by virtuoso playing the balalaika, Korean ensemble “Young Soul” performed the national dance.
