The Buzdyaksky district of Bashkortostan hosted a fete pf Tatar national cake “Belesh Bayram”. As Info Agency “Bashinform” reports the event was held in celebration of Mother Language Day.

Twelve teams have taken part in a culinary contest. The competition was held in the form of presentation of pies by bakers. The best dishes were chosen on the basis of tasting. The winners were determined in the following nominations: “For an unusual taste”, “Best Presentation”. “National secrets”.

At the celebration folk songs sounded and proverbs, folk dances were performed. For guests of the festival a Tatar national patio was made, an exhibition “Mother tongue – a rich legacy” worked. The holiday ended with a festive concert.

Belesh – a traditional Tatar dish. It is a big cake stuffed with pieces of fat meat with grains or potatoes.

It was organized by the branch of the RB House of Peoples’ Friendship – Tatar historical and cultural center and the administration of the Buzdyaksky district with the assistance of the regional national-cultural autonomy.
