The first multicultural festival SKAZ.KA to be held in Kazan

August  07, 2019

Combining all the previous experience gained and the main trends of our time, music, sports and culture will meet at the festival venue. Guests will find a rich diverse program and a lot of music from famous Western and Russian artists.

It is expected that the festival will bring together more than 50 thousand people of different ages and social status, open a new world for them and present a real fairy tale. Tatarstan, as a multinational and multicultural republic, will become a platform for the unity of different types of creativity.

Spectators are waiting for a lot of surprises and pleasant discoveries. So, within the framework of the festival, an immersive show “Dreams of the Sleeping Beauty” will be organized – a combination of modern ballet and three-dimensional projections on the stage in real time. An innovative production with a strong influence of the musical direction EDM (from the English – Electronic Dance Music) refers to the ballet by P.I. Tchaikovsky “Sleeping Beauty.” The main roles will be played by world ballet stars Diana Vishneva and Marcelo Gomez. The show premiered in December 2018 in Miami at The Adrienne Arsht Center.

Each fairy tale should have its own magical hero. The spirit of the forest of Shurale became the mythical creature that came from Tatar mythology to envelop the festival with a fabulous spirit and witness the new nascent musical history of the republic.

“The development of festival activities is one of the tasks of the state cultural policy. As a continuation of the Development Strategy “Tatarstan 2030”, over 5 years SKAZ.KA promises to become the largest music festival in Russia and take a leading place in the list of the main music festivals in Europe. The festival will give an impetus to expand the sphere of activity of the region, opening up new opportunities for popularizing the culture of the republic and attracting foreign investment.

Initially, it was planned to hold the festival on the site of the Kazan Expo exhibition center, but for the convenience of the audience it was decided to transfer the festival to the Tatneft Arena venue, said Taliya Minullina, head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan.
