The TURKSOY Youth Choir, formed out of students from conservatories of Turkic-speaking countries and Tatarstan, has completed a ten-day tour of the Balkan states. The Tatar song “Karasuvnun Dort Koshy” was included in the tour program, the press service of the TURKSOY Youth Choir reported.
“The TURKSOY Youth Choir, formed from students from the conservatories of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Russia (Tatarstan), conducted a ten-day tour of the cities of Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia,” the statement said.
The collective, which was managed by the Kazakhstan conductor Gulmira Kuttybadamova, included director of the State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Tatarstan Anastasia Chuprunova and the soloists of the same choir – Leyli Mamedova, Niyaz Larulin and Salavat Shafikov.
The choir was formed in 2015 on the initiative of head of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Dyusen Kaseinov to familiarize an international audience with Turkic music and choral art of Turkic countries.
After a tour of the Balkan countries, the choir will perform in Portugal at the IFCM 2019 World Choir Exhibition.
