On May 18 (the 20th day of the month of Dhu al-Qa’dah), the annual “Izge Bolgar Gathering” will take place in Bolgar. This event is held as part of the cultural program of the 16th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” (Kazan, May 13–18).
Traditionally, the central moment of the “Izge Bolgar Gathering” is “Tawbah” – a sincere collective prayer in which believers ask the Almighty for forgiveness of their sins. This deeply emotional act unites thousands of Muslims, creating a powerful spiritual atmosphere of unity and humility.
“Tawbah” will be held near the Small Minaret of the Bolgar Historical Complex and will be led by the long-time spiritual initiator of this noble tradition – Talgat Hazrat Tadzhuddin, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia (CDUM).
The event will also be attended by the Mufti of Tatarstan, Kamil Hazrat Samigullin, mukhtasibs and imams of Tatarstan and the CDUM, guests of the KazanForum, participants of the All-Russian Forum of Tatar Religious Figures, madrasah students, and all those who wish to join. Together with Talgat Hazrat, the faithful will recite words of repentance and supplication for the mercy of the Almighty.
The culminating part of the “Izge Bolgar Gathering” will be a collective prayer (namaz) on the grounds of the historic Khan Mosque in Bolgar. After the prayer, participants will recite du’a – a commemorative prayer in honor of ancestors who gave their lives for faith and the homeland, and they will also offer supplications for the well-being of the Muslim Ummah and all of Russia.
The event will also feature a cultural program and various interactive and thematic platforms.
Come and be part of this great spiritual assembly!
