Finals of Regional Stages of “Tatar Kyzy 2026” Kick Off in Russian Regions: First Takes Place in the Udmurt Republic

The finals of the regional stages of the International “Tatar Kyzy – 2026” competition have begun. The first venue was the Udmurt Republic – the final took place in the city of Izhevsk.

The final in Udmurtia became a significant event in the region’s cultural life, bringing together representatives of public organizations, cultural figures, youth, and guests. The competition traditionally serves as a platform aimed at preserving the Tatar language, promoting national traditions, and unlocking the potential of the younger generation.

A welcoming speech was delivered by A.F. Khaliullin — Head of the Special Projects Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars, Chairman of the Directorate of the International “Tatar Kyzy” Competition. He conveyed greetings from V.G. Shaykhraziev — Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars — emphasizing that the competition is one of the key projects for preserving and developing national identity and supporting Tatar youth in the regions.

The evening’s program then followed a unified script — from the contestants’ introductions and a fashion show to creative and intellectual challenges. The contestants demonstrated a high level of preparation, stage presence, as well as deep knowledge of Tatar history, prominent figures, traditions, and language.

A special atmosphere was added to the evening by a concert program featuring special guest Elvir Miftakhov, as well as invited artists.

Seven contestants took part in the final: Aysylu Ishshalina, Alina Sabirzyanova, Leysan Khikmatullina, Amina Bolshakova, Aliya Farrakhova, Amalia Gilmutdinova, and Elvina Khazieva. Each contestant presented the image of a modern Tatar girl, combining respect for traditions with a drive for development.

Based on the results of the competitive tests, the winner of the regional stage was Aysylu Ishshalina. She will represent the Udmurt Republic in the semifinals of the International “Tatar Kyzy – 2026” competition, which will take place in August.

The awards ceremony was the logical conclusion of the evening. The winner and contestants were presented with diplomas, commemorative prizes, and gifts. The final ended with the performance of the anthem “Tugan Tel.”

The World Congress of the Tatars and the Directorate of the International “Tatar Kyzy” Competition express their gratitude to the partners, sponsors, and organizers of the regional stage — the Tatar Business Club of Udmurtia, the Regional National-Cultural Autonomy of the Tatars of the Udmurt Republic, the House of Folk Art of the Udmurt Republic, and the Union of Tatar Youth “Iman” — for the high level of preparation and execution of the event.
