On June 6, in the village of Konezavodsky, Maryanovsky District, Omsk Region (near the “Omsky” breeding farm), the annual Sabantuy (Plough Festival) was held. It takes place in June, after the end of the sowing campaign. According to tradition, the All-Russian Rural Sabantuy has been celebrated throughout the country since 2010.
The folk Tatar-Bashkir folklore ensemble “Umyrzaya” took part in the festival’s three-hour concert program on the main stage, alongside musical and dance groups from the city of Omsk and Omsk Region. The choral performance of Tatar songs by our ensemble brought a national flavor to Sabantuy.
The festival guests moved with great pleasure between different activity zones. The concert, horse races, tasting of “Mishar” products, awards for workers, a lottery draw, an agricultural machinery exhibition, a fair of souvenirs, skullcaps (tubeteikas), calphaks, handmade dolls, a children’s playground, photo zones with natural dairy products from “Production Company ‘Vershina’ LLC,” and a treat of pilaf — all of this together created an atmosphere of unity at the celebration.
In addition, traditional folk games took place: sack races, kettlebell lifting, and “Koresh” — the most spectacular form of national wrestling.
Meanwhile, at the racetrack, equestrian masters demonstrated their skills. The audience had the opportunity to admire the agility of the riders and the strength and grace of their horses.
The ensemble of the folk Tatar-Bashkir folklore group extends its gratitude to the organizer of Sabantuy, Eldar Khalilovich, for his warm welcome. The festival was a resounding success! Attention and care were evident in every detail of the joyful Sabantuy.
We look forward to further cooperation.
