Last Saturday, the aroma of fresh pastries filled the Tatar Cultural Center in Yekaterinburg — a culinary master class on making Tatar elesh took place there. The Tatars of the city gathered together not only to socialize but also to connect with the gastronomic traditions of their people.

Under the expert guidance of the instructor, participants enthusiastically shaped elesh with filling and skillfully formed the famous Tatar “ears,” honing their dough-pinching technique. The discussion of the secrets of preparation that make the pastries truly tasty and tender aroused particular interest.

The highlight of the gathering was a joint tasting. The hot treats, just out of the oven, were perfectly complemented by aromatic Tatar herbal tea, and the warm atmosphere brought everyone present together.
