Today in Mamadysh, a regular meeting of the local branch of the World Congress of the Tatars took place, bringing together active community members and distinguished guests.

The event was attended by Irek Sharipov, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars and Head of the Committee for Work with Branches in Tatarstan; Farit Urazayev, Head of the Department for Work with Tatar Entrepreneurs of the World Congress of the Tatars; as well as Gulnaz Ibragimova, a presenter from the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company “Tatarstan.”

The meeting was chaired by Artur Mikhailovich Efimov, Head of the Executive Committee of the Mamadysh Municipal District.

The main topics on the agenda were: the results of efforts to preserve and promote Tatar folk traditions, and the election of a new head of the local branch of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars in the Mamadysh District.

The outgoing head, Gulnazira Talipova, delivered a report on the work carried out to preserve national culture and the native language.

The plenary session featured speeches from:
— Ilkham khadrat Minnegaliyev, imam-mukhtasib of Mamadysh District (on religious education and its role in preserving the language);
— Ramzia Magfurova, teacher of Tatar language and literature at School No. 4 (on achievements in education);
— Stepan Spiridonov, Head of the Culture Department of Mamadysh District (on the contribution of cultural institutions).

The most active participants were awarded letters of gratitude from the World Congress of the Tatars.

By unanimous decision, Lilia Sharifullina — Director of the Mamadysh Centralized Library System — was elected as the new head of the local branch.
