Vasil Shaykhraziev took part in the Regional Sabantuy in Samara

Vasil Shaykhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, took part in the Sabantuy festival during a working trip to Samara Oblast.

The region’s Governor, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, congratulated those gathered on the folk holiday, which has become a tradition for Samara Oblast – a multinational region where representatives of various cultures and peoples live – emphasizing its special significance during the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

For his part, Vasil Shaykhraziev expressed words of gratitude to Samara Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev. He noted that the two constituent entities, “holding hands, looking in the same direction, supporting each other, are moving forward and are among the leading regions of the Russian Federation.”

It should be noted that over 95,000 Tatars live in Samara Oblast. The region has 15 registered Tatar national-cultural organizations, 11 schools offer instruction in the Tatar language and literature, and the “Yaktylyk” school with in-depth study of the Tatar language and literature has been operating for over 25 years.

At the military personnel support hub, a handover ceremony took place for 30 vehicles purchased for the “BARS” volunteer detachment. Members of the Samara Regional Creative Public Organization “Duslyk” (“Friendship”) took part in assembling humanitarian aid – unmanned aerial vehicles will also be sent to soldiers in the special military operation zone.

Guests of the holiday were treated to folk festivities, performances by creative ensembles, and a large artisans’ fair. Traditional competitions were also held: belt wrestling “keresh”,” tug-of-war, pole climbing, sack fights on a log, and other tests of strength and agility.
