Vasil Shaykhraziev expresses gratitude to the Yakut people

During a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Alexey Yeliseyevich Kulakovsky — a prominent Yakut statesman, public figure, and writer — Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziev expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Yakut people.

“Every nation is great in its own way, and every nation has its own great figures — or shakhesslär, as we Tatars say. When we come to Yakutsk or other regions of the Russian Federation, everything begins with laying flowers. We are fortunate to be part of a republic that has celebrated its centenary. Everyone remembers well how, during the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Tatarstan, a delegation from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) visited us and held a wonderful celebration for all the people of Tatarstan. And when Yakutia celebrated its centennial, we showcased Tatar culture and industry.

We are sincerely grateful to the Yakut people and to all those who have lived and continue to live with respect and appreciation for each other’s cultural and traditional uniqueness.

The scale and spirit of the Sabantuy celebration also depend on the people of Yakutsk. After all, the nearest region is a 3–4 hour flight away. But we’ve made thorough preparations. As we say in Yakut, Tatar, and Russian families: the holiday is ready. We are waiting for everyone!” Shaykhraziev said.
