House of Journalists of Tatarstan in Kazan hosted a jubilee anniversary of the edition Chaian ( Scorpion ). A Tatar weekly magazine of humor and satire celebrated its 90th anniversary. Media community chiefs and editors of leading media came to congratulate staff of the newspaper.

Among the invited guests there were Chairman of the RT Union of Journalists, RT Deputy Chairman of State Council Rimma Ratnikova, head of the National Agency for Press and Mass Communications Irek Minnahmetov, General Director of JSC Tatmedia Farid Shagiakhmetov.

Rimma Ratnikova congratulated the collective team on behalf of the President of Tatarstan and the RT State Council. On behalf of the RT President she handed a Letter of gratitude to the staff and an honorary diploma of Russian Union of Journalists .

Chaian ( Scorpion ) – Tatar weekly magazine of humor and satire, founded in 1923, is published in the Tatar language from January 1923 in Russian – since 1956. Today, it remains the world’s only magazine of humor and satire in the Tatar language. From the first days, the edition subtly ridicules bureaucracy, red tape , carelessness, drunkenness, and so on. During the war, the magazine ceased publishing , but in the front newspapers there were corners of Chaian. Printing has resumed in December 1951.
