New Year’s celebration organized by Tatar autonomy “Khabar” was held on December 14, entitled Evening of tolerance. Tatars invite. The evening was held in the style of around the world. Each of the 10 tables got the name of a particular country, and each guest was able to participate in a contest on knowledge of the traditions of New Year celebrations.

The central event of the evening was a parade in traditional Tatar costumes. Viewers showed 15 attires of various directions. Under Tatar songs, members of Tatar autonomy appeared on stage in a certain manner.

– We have long wanted to buy Tatar attires for members of our autonomy. This was achieved thanks to a grant support from the government of krai. Within a month Tatar seamstresses worked on our order so that we could be able to not only realize our dream, but also to show them to all national associations – chairman of the Tatar youth club Lilya Fedoseyeva said.

While Tatars of Khabarovsk showed their new clothes to the present, the guests were treated by traditional holiday dishes of the Tatars: ochpochmak , belesh , chak-chak. Tables, literally, “were bursting” from treats and everyone could taste them.

Throughout the evening, the songs in the Tatar and Russian languages sounded, and guests of the evening started dancing under the perky tunes of boyan and flute.
