In honor of the 140th anniversary of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, a literary hour titled “Tukay — the Spring of Poetry” took place at the Starochukalinskaya Rural Library in the Chuvash Republic.

During the event, children became acquainted with the biography and works of the great poet. From the librarian’s narration, the children learned that Gabdulla Tukay is a poet who is equally dear to everyone — both adults and children. His books teach one to appreciate the beauty of one’s native land and kindness; they call for compassion, justice, and courage. Using a colorful electronic presentation, they explored the poet’s biography. They read Tukay’s works aloud.

During the event, Tatar melodies and songs set to the poet’s verses were performed. Attendees also had the opportunity to view the book exhibition “The Magical World of Tukay”.
